How Sport Clips Haircuts Offered a Stylist a "Tool Bag of Opportunity" to Create a New, Award-winning Life

As a young girl growing up with a single father, Toni Sibole was bullied by peers for not knowing how to style her hair or apply makeup. Frequent moves between states and extended stays with other family members added to her chaotic childhood. Although she prevailed, earning two college scholarships in golf and art, the constant upheaval in her life made it difficult for her to stick to her studies. Instead, Toni found inspiration in the glossy pages of Cosmopolitan magazine, sparking a passion that led her to enroll in cosmetology school and embark on a different path.

Determined to build a career in the beauty industry, Toni earned her cosmetology license in 2013 and began working at a family salon chain. She says what came next was an unhealthy relationship, long hours at the salon, and a destructive cycle of substance abuse to deal with the pressures. Spiraling, the cycle eventually led to homelessness and losing access to reliable transportation. She often walked or used a ride-share to get to work, while her personal struggles continued.

Toni spotted a listing for a stylist position at a local Sport Clips Haircuts. She applied, interviewed online, and was hired. What started as a new job quickly blossomed into a new beginning. At Sport Clips, Toni found more than employment. She finally received the help she needed within a supportive team of colleagues who believed in her, uplifted her, and helped lay the foundation for her transformation.

With renewed purpose, Toni began rising through the ranks at Sport Clips, earning promotions, and embracing new responsibilities along the way. Today, she serves in a management role and is played key part in opening a new location. Toni and her team were even recognized nationally with Sport Clips' highest honor, The Logan Trophy, which awards outstanding work and performance among the brand's more than 1,850 locations.

She says the trust and support she's received throughout her journey have changed her life and empowered her to inspire and uplift others. She’s now passionate about helping those who have been in similar situations. Toni is especially grateful for the wide range of support Sport Clips offers its stylists, from continuing education to free counseling and outreach programs. With what she calls a “tool bag full of opportunity,” she credits the company’s culture of care for helping her build a solid foundation, both personally and professionally. She now owns her own home, has her children back in her care, and is in a very happy marriage.

The company’s commitment to uplifting its team through education, leadership opportunities, and genuine care has allowed Toni to rebuild her life. Now a leader herself, she stands as a living example of what’s possible when talent meets compassion and opportunity.
