Haley's video helps coworkers to shine

One of our Heart of a Champion winners, Haley Lederhaus, was featured in her local paper - the Plant City Observer

A local stylist is receiving recognition not only for her professional skills, but also for the positive impact she has made on her coworkers and clients.

Haley Lederhaus, a stylist at Sport Clips in Plant City, recently earned a company award for creating an educational training video designed to help fellow stylists strengthen their knowledge of products and services. The video was created to help employees better understand how to recommend and properly use products so they could better serve clients and achieve greater success behind the chair.

Managers said Haley’s project stood out because of the effort she put into helping others learn and grow within the company. The training video focused on simplifying product education and giving coworkers practical information they could apply during client consultations and everyday interactions in the store.

The resource has been especially valuable for newer stylists who are still building confidence and learning how to tailor products and services to individual clients. Store leadership said Haley’s willingness to share her knowledge and encourage others played a major role in the project’s success.

In addition to producing the training resource, Haley was also recognized for mentoring a newer stylist and helping her grow in confidence and skill within the industry. Coworkers said she consistently takes time to answer questions, offer encouragement, and help newer team members feel supported as they continue developing their careers.

Originally from Neenah, Wis., Haley moved to Florida with her family four years ago in search of warmer weather and a new lifestyle for their children. Since relocating, the family has embraced Florida’s beach lifestyle and the opportunities that came with the move.

Haley met her husband while attending barber school 16 years ago, and the couple has two daughters, ages 2 and 9.

After seeing an opening online for the Plant City Sport Clips location, Haley joined the store two years ago and quickly became known for both her product knowledge and her outgoing personality. Managers said her ability to connect with clients and coworkers alike helped make her a strong fit for the team.

Outside of her technical skills as a stylist, Haley’s love of sports has also helped her build relationships with customers. A devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers, she enjoys talking sports with clients and creating a welcoming atmosphere inside the shop. Her enthusiasm and ability to easily connect with people have helped many customers feel comfortable from the moment they walk through the door.

Coworkers described Haley as someone who genuinely enjoys helping others succeed. Her interest in teaching and mentoring became one of the driving forces behind the award-winning training project. Managers said her efforts helped strengthen teamwork within the store while also improving confidence among employees.

The award was announced during a recent company convention, where Haley was recognized among peers for her leadership and contributions. Additional recognition later took place at the Plant City store, where coworkers celebrated the achievement together.

Store leadership said the recognition reflects more than individual success. Haley’s commitment to teamwork, mentorship, and professional growth has helped create a positive environment for both employees and clients.

In an industry built on relationships and trust, managers said Haley’s willingness to share her experience and support those around her continues to make a lasting impact within the store and throughout the company.

As Haley continues building connections with clients and coworkers, her dedication to education, mentorship, and customer service remains an example of the difference one employee can make within a workplace and the community it serves.
