While Brittany Burton’s high school classmates were excited about visiting colleges, Brittany was seeking something different. She knew she liked to be active and wanted an opportunity to express her creativity, so sitting behind a desk wasn't for her. After graduating, she took a route unlike many of her peers by enrolling in cosmetology school, even though she hadn't envisioned it as her long-term career. “At first, I thought I'll do this for a little while until I figure out my real future path,” she recalls. Little did she know, her time as a stylist would lead to a fulfilling career with Sport Clips Haircuts that continues today.

Building a Stylist Career

Brittany’s start out of cosmetology school was at a full-service salon, but the environment wasn't what she hoped. A friend introduced her to Sport Clips, and she decided to apply for a stylist position. A combination of company culture, teamwork, and support confirmed Brittany found her new work home. Within just four months, a manager position opened, and Brittany went for it. Despite her short time at the company, she nailed the interview and secured the role. 

Brittany didn't stop there. She applied for a coveted position on the Sport Clips' national Artistic Team that travels as platform stylists and made it! It allowed her the opportunity to speak at the company's National Huddle before a crowd of thousands gathered for the event in Las Vegas. “It was scary, but it was such a great opportunity,” she says. Sharing her story in front of a large crowd was a turning point in her career, as she reflects on the amazing opportunities Sport Clips has afforded her and how her “just do it” attitude got her to where she is today. 

Coaching With Heart
Now a regional coach, Brittany supports other coaches across a wide area of the country, helping them navigate challenges common to the industry and achieve success. She's thankful for the continual support of the entire Sport Clips team, the professional development opportunities it offers for stylists, and the work-life balance that allows her to have a career and be a mom.  For Brittany, the best part of her job is working alongside her best friend, who is also a regional coach. “We get to collaborate, bounce ideas off each other, and go through this journey together,” she says.
