Compensation & Earning Potential

• Base pay ranging from $19–$28.50+ per hour, based on prior quarter weekly net sales

• Average credit card tips of approximately $475+ per week

• Additional cash tips averaging approximately $225+ per week

• Bi-weekly manager focus bonus opportunities ranging from $200–$550+, based on store and personal performance goals

• Retail commissions

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid Maryland Cosmetology and/or Barber License

• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

• Ability to work 35–40 hours per week and adjust scheduling as business needs require

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members

• Passion for the hair industry and delivering outstanding customer experiences

• Proficiency in men’s and boys’ haircutting techniques across all hair textures

• Ability to perform an average of 1.7–2.2 haircuts per hour

• Product knowledge with the ability to recommend products and coach retail performance

• Strong communication, organizational, and follow-up skills

• Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Word, Zoom, and standard office equipment

• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Reliable transportation

• Positive attitude, professionalism, honesty, and adaptability

What You’ll Do

• Assist in leading daily salon operations
• Support, coach, and motivate team members
• Deliver an exceptional client experience

Qualifications

• Valid Maryland cosmetology and/or barber license
• Previous salon leadership experience preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Passion for delivering outstanding customer service
• Confident performing men’s and boys’ haircuts on all hair types and textures
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude
• Organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our salon in Hagerstown Maryland is looking for talented hair stylists/barbers who are passionate about cutting hair, making their clients look and feel great, and want to have fun while doing it! Our team is dedicated to exceptional customer service and building up a large client base, and the ideal candidate for this role has similar goals in mind. At Sport Clips, we provide ongoing training to our hair stylists and barbers so they can stay up to date on the latest haircut trends. If you are interested in growing and learning in your cosmetology/barber career, we encourage you to apply to our hair salon today.

Stylists typically average $26 - $36 per hour, including base pay, tips, retail commissions, and incentives. Our stylists' base pay is $15 - $26, depending on performance.
